Reveal: Our Updated Attic Bathroom, Courtesy of Walmart!
When we bought our home, one of the coolest features was the finished attic (a huge space that spans the full upstairs along with a full bathroom) that came along with it. I had visions of turning the space into a playroom (in the end we made our basement the playroom instead) and letting Jacob use it as his teenage room one day (might still happen — we’ll see!).
In the meantime, we’ve decided to transform it into a bonus room and space for guests. So when Walmart offered to help me decorate it all, I decided to start with the full bathroom, which had been completely neglected up until now! Walmart’s Home section has an amazing selection of anything and everything you’d need to update any space so I had a lot of fun choosing items to perfectly complement our home.
The first thing I chose was a round metal framed mirror to hang over our vanity. The room and the vanity are both on the smaller side and we have sloped ceilings up here, so round was the way to go! I chose this one black one, but there were a bunch of them I really liked so I’ve linked to the others at the end of this post.
I also added a striped shower curtain in gray and white to keep the room neutral but fun and hung a few pieces of artwork that we had lying around the house (if we had the wall space, I would have included this one — how cute is it?!) The floorspace is very tight, but I found a pretty white bath mat with a crocheted look that fits perfectly (it comes in tons of colors — would look very cute in a kids’ bathroom too!).
And also hung a pair of striped flouta towels on the hooks at the back of the door since we couldn’t fit a towel rack anywhere in the room. If we had more space, I totally would have added a ladder like this one for the towels (we have a similar one in our master bathroom, which we love!).
I actually picked up 6 of these towels because they’re so pretty and affordable. Would also make great beach blankets and are a fraction of the price of look-alikes I’ve seen at other retailers!
For accessories, I chose clear lidded canisters, which I filled with bath salts, bath rocks and cotton — a really nice way to make guests feel welcome.
Since we’re lacking storage in this space, I filled a belly basket with extra rolls of toilet paper and placed it on top of a short stool so it’s easily reachable but also out of the way. I love baskets and use them in almost every room of our house to keep things corralled and organized.
And lastly, I added a gray ceramic soap dish to the sink (which actually came in a large set that also includes a toothbrush holder, liquid soap dispenser, and cup, which I’ll use somewhere else in the house).
I love how this bathroom has turned out and can’t wait to update the rest of the attic space in the coming months! A big thank you to Walmart Home for helping me with this room. If you haven’t already, check out Walmart’s Home section for products to finish off your space.
