Home for the Holidays.
We had originally planned to travel this holiday season, but with a sick kid (and having a cold myself), we were forced to cancel our plans and stay home — which hasn’t been terrible!
*This blog post is sponsored by Serena & Lily but all content, ideas, and words are my own . Thank you for letting me share one of my favorite brands with you all!
Serena & Lily believes that living well begins at home — and at home is exactly where we plan to stay! There are a few projects around the house that I’ve been slacking on, not to mention presents that haven’t been wrapped and just general self-care that I think we’re ALL in need of this time of year. And all of this is going to happen at home this week thanks to family, comfy clothes, and lots of hot coffee.
First things first: the last of the presents MUST be wrapped in time for Hanukkah and Christmas!
Nearly everything is done, but there were a few gifts that I was waiting on that have arrived just in time. One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is being able to lounge around in pajamas all day long and my new Dalton Flannel Pajamas from Serena & Lily do not disappoint!
They’re made from the softest, eco-friendly cotton yarns that are gentle against the skin and come in two beautiful colors (light blue check and light gray check). They run a little large, which I personally love, and get softer with each wash.
I’m not joking when I say I plan to spend most of the next week in them! We actually have the Dalton flannel Duvet on our bed in the winter (sadly, it’s no longer available) and these pajamas are the next best thing to being under the covers!
As funny as it sounds, the other item on my checklist for the week is to sleep in a bit and to take some more time for myself. I know we all get caught up in daily life with work, family, and friends, and often put ourselves last. It’s hard for me to put myself first, but for the next few days, I’m going to try to do at least one thing every day that’s just for ME (today it’s wrapping presents while enjoying a cup of coffee sans kiddos! Tomorrow it might be a solo grocery run lol).
And in terms of projects, I have so many ideas for the coming year — but first on my list is to finish updating our guest bedroom! I have a few more panels of wallpaper (I’m using this beautiful Linden paper in gray) to hang, then I’m going to add some artwork, accessories, and a new rug. Here’s a peek at the room so far (well, the corner of the room that I’ve actually gotten around to papering!):
Isn’t that wallpaper just gorgeous! It’s feminine but simple and in my favorite neutral color palette. I can’t wait to share the final room with all of you but first I really need to force myself to finish the remaining walls! It might be my project for the day after Christmas if I’m feeling up to it… we’ll see.
In case you’re in need of any last-minute gifts for someone special (or, let’s be honest, yourself!), I’ve included some of my favorite R&R items below — perfect for any bedroom or bathroom. I have many of these pieces in our own home, while others have been used in clients’ homes or are on my wish list!
Who else is planning to stay home this holiday season? If you are, what are you planning to do all week long to keep busy while still getting much needed R&R? Tell me in the comments!!
xoxo
