Styling a Bar Cart Two Ways.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season! Today, I’m excited to be partnering with Serena & Lily to share how you can style a bar cart two completely different ways! Serena & Lily believes that living well begins at home and using pieces of furniture and accessories to enhance your day-to-day life.
Bar carts are one of those really fabulous pieces of furniture that are extremely versatile. Sure, you can use it for booze — but you can also repurpose it as a second tabletop for entertaining, a dessert trolly, a bookshelf, or even a nightstand (I love the look of one or two bar carts next to a bed! Totally gives the vibe of sleeping in a fancy hotel room — and who doesn’t love that?!).
I knew immediately that I wanted to add the South Seas Bar Cart to our home, but I’ll admit that I had a hard time choosing which color! It comes in a beautiful natural wicker or painted black wicker. I almost went with the black wicker, but decided last-minute that the natural would look beautiful in our guest room so that’s the one that I chose and I couldn’t be happier with it!
Long-term, I’m planning to use this bar cart as a bedside table in our guest room. I recently added a beautiful floral wallpaper to the walls and a new rug, and this piece just completes the space. I love how large the South Seas Bar Cart is (although it does come in a smaller size in case that works better for your space!). As a bedside table, I styled the top of the cart with a lamp, a potted plant, and a stack of coffee table books. On the lower shelf, I added a vase, a bowl of pinecones (seasonal), a candle and a porcelain box.
See below for photos of the South Seas Bar Cart as a bedside table (and you’ll also catch a glimpse of our updated guest bedroom!)
Now for a completely different way to style this cart: since we’re still in the holiday season, I thought it would be really fun to let the kids also enjoy the South Seas Bar Cart as a hot cocoa station! I added mini cocoa mugs with each of our initials, our favorite brand of both white and dark chocolate hot cocoa, and some extra special condiments ( chocolate chips, peppermint snaps, peppermint marshmallows, and candy canes!). I also added a bit of garland and clustered a few wax pine trees to make it all feel little festive, and voila! the bar cart is suddenly transformed into a station where we can fix a fun cup of cocoa for the kids (and, well, for us too!). See below for photos of how I styled the South Sear Bar Cart into a hot cocoa cart!
This particular bar cart would work equally well as a traditional booze cart, a dessert trolley, as an extension of your dining room buffet table, or even as a really cool entryway console.
Below I’m linking some of the items I used to style our guest bedroom along with a few different bar carts and other items I’ve had my eye on. Happy New Year!
