Master Bathroom Refresh with Chasing Paper.
For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you might have noticed that I don’t share our master bathroom too often. Our house is a new build (about 5 years old now) and while the bathroom is modern, it absolutely screams “builder-grade” to me. The walls are gray, fixtures are all satin nickel (which personally, I hate), and the lighting is boring. It’s a total missed opportunity, in my opinion, and a room that I’ve been planning to update for a loooong time.
While my design plans for the space were always evolving, what I did know for certain was that I wanted to add wallpaper and incorporate pattern in some way. I also knew that I wanted to go bold(!) and use a paper that I might not otherwise choose for a main living space. Bathrooms are the perfect spot to add some drama and have some fun and I was ready for it!
Chasing Paper is often a go-to brand of mine for clients, so when I heard that they were collaborating with talented artist Kelly Ventura on a few new prints, I immediately asked if I could have one for our bathroom! There are two new prints that Chasing Paper has just launched today and each is available in three colorways. I was immediately drawn to “Climb,” which is a soft watercolor botanical that’s available in a few different colors. My son has actually expressed some interest in design lately (which I love!) so I decided to let him help by choosing the wallpaper. I presented him with two of my favorite colorways and he chose River (which was actually what I was leaning toward too). It’s a beautiful gray/green watercolor with a white backdrop, which I think perfectly complements the room.
It’s a bold pattern but the neutral colors totally make it work and have helped to transform our boring old bathroom into a spa-like oasis.
The paper wasn’t too difficult to install — Chasing Paper’s peel-and-stick is really high quality, which means that the paper is thick and forgiving (you can easily reposition it and smooth out bubbles). The trickiest part was working around our tub and windows but the rest of the room was smooth sailing!
To finish off the space, I also added a few new printed from Minted (which I’ll link below) as well as a leaning ladder to hold towels and a stool by our tub. A few accessories and the space feels completely different (in the best way possible). I’m waiting on a vintage runner and new light fixtures for over the sink and then the space will be complete!
Here are a few more shots of our updated bathroom featuring Chasing Paper’s new “Climb” wallpaper:
I’m also linking below some of the artwork and accessories that I’ve added to the room:
A huge thank you to Chasing Paper for gifting me this wallpaper. I know I say this all the time, but wallpaper can absolutely transform any room in a home and our little bathroom feels like a completely new space because of it! Oh, and while I chose peel-and-stick for this project, all of Chasing Paper’s wallpaper patterns are available as traditional or peel-and-stick so you can choose what works best for you.
I’d love to know what you guys think about this room refresh in the comments!
